Founded in September of 2001 by Abdulhamid Ali and Frank D’Amato, DAAR is a civil engineering consulting firm committed to providing quality professional design and construction management services to both public and private sector clients.

Ali and D’Amato established a personal and professional relationship, beginning in 1989, while Ali was working in the public sector and D’Amato in the private sector. With a mutual desire to address the lack of personal service provided by consultant engineering firms and offer high quality engineering services, at competitive prices, they combined their engineering experience and knowledge to form DAAR Engineering, Inc.

Experience

At DAAR we proudly employ a staff of 73 professional licensed engineers, engineering specialists and technicians, student engineers, administrative personnel, drafting technicians, project managers, and project engineers. With over 170 years of cumulative experience working with federal, state, regional and local agencies and award-winning design and public relations work, we are well positioned to manage our client’s projects from all angles start to finish.

Knowledge

Based on our experience working with a multitude of agencies and clients, we consistently produce teams qualified to handle the most challenging projects. Our staff has an intimate knowledge of the many transportation guidelines and procedures, which translate into projects that continually meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

We are proud to have several staff members with Systematic Development of Informed Consent (SDIC) Certification. As a result, our teams possess strong public relations, management and conflict resolution skills to develop and maintain public support for all transportation projects.

Leadership

Several members of the DAAR staff have held supervisory positions in both the public and private sector, ranging from a Wisconsin DOT Project Development Chief, to construction and design Project Managers.

In October 2003, DAAR was a recipient of “The Secretary Award” given by Wisconsin DOT Secretary Frank Busalacchi for hard-work, dedication, and exemplary development and growth within the transportation sector.
